Welcome to Class RP's Page
For the first few weeks of the Summer Term our topic is 'Space'.
WEEK 1
The children have enjoyed finding out about space. They have helped to create a space themed role play area in the classroom. They are welcome to bring in books or objects from home to add to our space display. They have created aliens and painted pictures of them.
WEEK 2
The children have written descriptions of their aliens. We have focused on taking away using a number line and/or mentally.
WEEK 3
We have been writing postcards from space. We have been recording subtraction problems.
Weeks 4 - 6
We have been retelling the stories 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Jasper's Beanstalk' using story language. We planted sunflowers and beans and made Mr Grassheads.
We enjoyed making new friends on our Challenge Days.
Weeks 7 - 8
We focused on dinosaurs. We used non fiction books to find out about them. We used paint and collage to create dinosaurs and wrote descriptions of them. We used mathematical vocabulary to describe them.
Week 9
Our new topic is 'Water'. We have been finding out about where our water comes from. We are finding out about the sea.
