| No | As announced by Mrs Herbert at the Achievers assembly today, we will be celebrating World Book Day on 1st March. This should give you time to prepare your child's fancy dress costume with no last minute panic. Remember, the children should come to school dressed as a literary character. Plenty to chose from, Alice in Wonderland or King Arthur to Zorro (sorry, can't think of a female character beginning with a z). You might chose Wilbur (The piglet in Charlotte's Web) or even Wally. What about Nemo and Dory? Michael Morpurgo's Gnome - Mr Skip? Why not let your imagination run wild? | |

Dear Parents, I am writing to inform you that the school will be closed on Wednesday 30th November due to industrial action by a number of unions, which involves a high proportion of staff at the school.
The decision to close the school has been made by myself and the Chair of Governors, Rob Hatton, as there will not be enough staff to safely cover classes.
We regret the inconvenience that this will cause to many of you and we have spoken to our after school childcare provider, Puffins, who will be running a ‘Holiday Club’ here on that day, for a small charge. Puffins can be contacted on 01392 496017.
Our own breakfast club will run as normal for those parents to whom it will still be useful but for regular users who don’t need their breakfast club place that day, please let us know so that we can arrange a refund of your session fee.
In the event that the unions call off the strike, we will inform you using the email system.
Once again, we apologise for any disruption that this causes.
Yours faithfully,
Louise Herbert Headteacher | 30/11/2011 |

| No | Firstly, a big thank you to those who have already brought in their gifts. You may have seen the buckets in reception that are gradually filling up with unwanted gifts. (Let's face it, we've all had 'em) Now, one person's unwanted gift could be just what someone else needs, so please help by donating two gifts that are presently languishing, unopened in the drawer at home. Every child will be able to choose two gifts that will be wrapped and labelled and will be a surprise for Mum and Dad!! The Secret Gift Fayre is on the morning of Friday 9th December. Each child is encouraged to donate £1 on the day, to go towards wrapping paper & any shortfall in the number of donated gifts. This was a huge success last year and the children take great pleasure in choosing their two gifts to take home to their closest relatives - Mum/Dad/Aunt/Sister etc. | 10/12/2011 |

Yesterday (Wed) they went to London to the Natural History Museum. They visited the Dinosaur experience and learnt about the earth's make up by going on an amazing trip throught the earth's core. Before they went back to Marchant's Hill they had a tour around London in their coach, seeing the sights and all the Christmas Lights.
This morning they are on site and have been doing Quad biking, the zip wire and other outdoor activities.
In case any of you have had trouble trying to fax things to PGL - they no longer have a fax machine in their office!
