How To Use This Wiki Library

How to use this wiki
You can use this wiki to share knowledge, brainstorm ideas, collaborate with your team on a design, create an instruction guide, build an encyclopedia of knowledge, or just write down daily information in an easily accessible and modifiable format.

Editing wiki pages
This wiki site provides what-you-see-is-what-you-get (WYSIWYG) editing. To edit a page, click Edit at the top of the page. You can insert tables and pictures with the click of a button. When you are happy with your changes you can click OK to update the page.

Creating links to pages
You can link to another existing page in this wiki by enclosing the name of the page in double square brackets on the edit form. For example, type [[Home]] to create a link from the current page to the page named Home.

To create a link to a page and have the link display different text than the page name, type a pipe character (|) after the page name, and then type the display text. For example, type [[Home|Home Page]] to create the link labelled Home Page that points to the page named Home.

To display double opening or closing brackets without making a link, type a backslash before the two brackets. For example, \[[ or \]].

You can see which pages link to the current page by clicking Incoming Links at the top of the page.

Creating pages
There are two ways to create a new page in your wiki:
  1. Create a forward link to another page and then click on the link to create the page:
This is the recommended way to create a page because it is easier for people to find the pages when they are linked.

Start by adding a link to your new page in exactly the same way as when you link to an existing page. That is, go to the page from which you want to create a link to the new page and click Edit. In the body of the page where you want the link to appear, type the name of the new page enclosed in double square brackets. For example, type [[My New Page]] to create a link to a new page called My New Page. Click OK to save your edits to the current page. Notice that the link to your new page has a dashed underline to indicate that the linked page does not exist yet. Click the link to go to the New Wiki Page form and type in your content for the new page.

  2. Create a page that is not linked to any other:
Click Article Index at the top of any page in the wiki. From the New menu, select New Wiki Page. This takes you to the New Wiki Page form and you can type your content.

Managing wiki pages
You can manage the pages in your wiki by clicking Article Index at the top of any page in the wiki. A list of all pages in the wiki displays. To open a page, click its name. To modify the settings for the wiki, use the menu options. To modify individual pages, move your mouse pointer over a page name until a drop-down menu appears, and choose the required option. For example, select Delete to delete the page.

Restoring a page
If you need to restore a previous version of a page, click Article Index at the top of the page. Move your mouse pointer over the relevant page name until a drop-down menu displays and select Version History. Move your mouse pointer over the version that you want to restore until a drop-down menu displays, and select Restore. The restored version becomes the current version.
