Admissions to Reception class 2011Use SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
Yes
If you are applying for a place for your child to start in Reception 2011, it is very important that out of the three choices you have you name BOTH St Mary's AND St Catherine's because both are parish schools. If you put down your reason for your first choice as baptised Roman Catholic, then you MUST also put that reason for your second or third choice so that the Governing Body admissions panel has that information.

Admission Procedures
Applications for Reception Class September 2011
Applications for Reception places at all Infant and Primary Schools in Swindon, including St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, must be made on a common application form. The application must be made directly to Swindon Local Authority either on-line or by post . Forms are available from the school or from the One Stop Shop at Wat Tyler House.

Applications made by post should be returned to:
Schools Admissions
Wat Tyler House
Beckhampton Street
Swindon
SN1 2JG

All applications for Reception Class 2011 MUST BE RECEIVED BY
JANUARY 15th  2011
Any applications made after this date will be considered “late applications.”

In addition to the common application form, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School has an additional supplementary form. This is so that Governors can apply their admissions criteria should the school be oversubscribed. These forms are available from the school office and should be returned directly to the school.

Gender Equality PolicyUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).
Yes
As well as Equal Opportunities, Race Equality and Disability Discrimination policies, St Mary's needs to add a Gender Equality Policy to that list. We have a duty to consult with parents about the policy. I have put the draft gender equality policy in the documents section of Merlin. It will be there for a week before it goes to consultation with staff and governors. If you feel you want to comment on it please email me head@st-marys.swindon.sch.uk .

Can I please remind everybody that the children need to bring in food items for our Harvest assembly on Friday morning at 9.30am. These items can be fresh produce, tins, dried foods, biscuits or packets of crisps. The children will go out delivering these food boxes later on that day. Thanks so much.
