Swift and easy access to specialist services
Sometimes children and their families need that little bit of extra help and in order to give our children and our parents/carers the best possible support we work closely with a number of partners ranging from Health Visitors, Speech and Language Therapists, Education Welfare, Behaviour Support to Child & Adolescent Mental Health services. Our in house Family Support Workers also work closely with our children and families as does the Parent Support Advisor.
Our on site team of Health Visitors, Nursery Nurses and Speech & Language Therapist offer first rate health advice and support.
For children aged 0 to 5, our Health Visitors and Nursery Nurses offer general health information, advice and support to help families stay healthy and to prevent ill health through early identification of problems.
The team offers advice and support on:
-
Child care and development
-
Behaviour management
-
Parenting
-
Feeding
-
Antenatal and post natal
-
Family health
-
and lots more!
The service is delivered through home visits, child health clinics and groups. If you would like to contact a member of the Health Visiting team please ring Tel. 01793 482860.
Our Speech & Language Therapist works with children and young people aged 0 to 18 who are having difficulty with speech sounds, developing language or social interaction. An open referral system is used; this means that anyone can refer a child (i.e. parents, Health Visitors, GP, school staff). The service is delivered through clinics here at Goddard Park or school visits, depending on the reason for referral and the age of the child. For further information on the service or to refer a child please ring Tel. 01793 439960.
For children with more complex needs we work alongside their parents/carers and refer them to specialist services as required.
