Living Eggs
On Monday 12th March our incubator and chicken eggs arrived. There are ten eggs and we need to look after them very carefully. |

On Tuesday 13th March we heard cheeping and saw cracks in four eggs.

One of the chicks hatched at 4 o'clock. |
When we arrived at school on Wednesday 14th March, eight of the eggs had hatched. The ninth hatched in the morning and the tenth came out of his shell at lunch time.

We now have ten cheeping chicks. It is amazing that they came out of such a small shell. It is amazing that they know how to peck their food. We cannot believe how good they are at looking after each other |
The first chick to hatch is called Catherine. She is very yellow with two stripes down her back. By Wednesday afternoon, all ten chicks had hatched. They took several hours to dry |

On Friday 23rd March we said a sad goodbye to our friendly chicks. They have gone to live on a farm and we will hear about them from time to time. |
