Year 12 AG&T International Leadership Conference - MalaysiaUse SHIFT+ENTER to open the menu (new window).

Four Year 12 students, Rhys Jones, Victoria Baker, Alice O’Mahony and Beth Fiducia-Brooks, were privileged to represent St. Augustine’s and attend, in conjunction with 14 representatives from other West Wiltshire Federation Schools, an AG&T International Leadership Conference to Malaysia in November.

The trip comprised myriad activities and sought to engender a focus on leadership skills, attributes and qualities. Furthermore, cross cultural reflection was encouraged through visits to the capital Kuala Lumpur, treks to local tea plantations, a celebration of the customary Diwali night and a journey to the beautiful Island of Pangkor. The experience of the students culminated in a presentation delivered to an audience centred on topical, global issues. Communing with and reciprocating through the company of Malaysian students further served to foster that driven, arduous and inspirational approach befitting of future leaders, cultivated by a real sense of purpose and direction.

All four students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and following their return from Malaysia their focus will now lie with communicating lessons learned through testimony and evaluation to all year groups in the college. In so doing, we as a college community may further share in seeking to reap the fruits of diligence and industry. All four student representatives were excellent ambassadors for the College and we warmly commend them for their efforts.
