Unicef Rights Respecting School

At St Mary the Virgin Primary School, we believe that children learn best when they are happy and secure and so we create a supportive, safe and stimulating learning environment.  We work with each child as an individual so that they are supported and challenged to reach their full potential. We believe that the school belongs to the children and their voice is the most important one in the school!  For this reason, we are a Rights Respecting School.  The values of the Rights Respecting Schools award, along with SEAL, are at the heart of everything that we do.

In 2009 we achieved our level 1 Rights Respecting School award.  We are working towards becoming a level 2 school.  Our level 1 report can be found in the document library.
