We have all worked really hard in gaining our Rights Respecting Schools award. During the day of our assessment, groups of children were interviewed as were the school council, members of staff, the governors, the PTA and some parents.
The UNICEF inspector, Mike Hillary, toured the school during lesson time, playtime and lunchtime. He spoke to as many children as possible to establish their knowledge and understanding of the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child and how we had become a Rights Respecting school.
Although we were quietly confident we would achieve the award, it was still a nerve racking day! Well done to everyone.
