“Raysfield Junior School is an improving school...
The strong commitment to the valuing of individual pupils shines through. This results in delightfully friendly, polite and responsible pupils. Their good personal development is the most striking feature of the school and is the result of the good care, guidance and support provided. The school’s values, ‘Love to learn, learn to care; belong… believe… achieve!’ are threaded through all aspects of the school.” Ofsted 2009. (full report within INFORMATION tab)
The school, opened in 1971, is situated in the middle of a private housing estate on the edge of Chipping Sodbury. (Map link at the bottom of the page). It shares the site with Raysfield Infants School and Dodington Parish Hall. There is a wealth of outside space for sports, play and environmental work. The school is built on two levels, with eight classrooms, a hall, an ICT suite, external learning room, group teaching areas and a library. The environment is well cared for locally and most families have a very caring nature, which is reflected in the children who attend the school. The school is held in high regard in the local community.
