Engaging Parents

A successful home-school relationship can be a key element to making a school stronger and more effecdtive. Ensuring full engagement of parents and carers in the school is an activity that constantly needs to be reviewed and evaluated. Schools need to make sure that they continue to achieve maximum participation and engagement, including with those paretns that are described as hard to reach or difficult to engage.

Many of the resources on this page are taken from a project that was run in South Gloucestershire and six other local authorities. The Beacon Parent project in partnership with three schools worked together to engage paretns in school activities with a view to raising achievement overall.

There are strong links between the materials on this page and those on the Extended Schools website.
