Headteacher Wellbeing Support

Welcome to the Head Teacher Support Co-ordinators’ Webpage. We work with all Head Teachers to:

  • offer confidential professional and personal support in Primary and Special Schools and
  • promote enhanced personal well-being.

All Head Teachers are entitled to:

  • at least one visit per year and
  • confidential telephone support during school time, out of hours during term time and the three weekdays prior to the start of Terms 1, 3 and 5.

Our role is independent of the Local Authority and the Heads’ Executive acts as line manager for these posts.

The annual visit can be used for anything that would be helpful, but our first priority is to promote Head Teacher well being and work/life balance. As part of this work we can also discuss future innovations or issues such as parents, governors, staff, SEF, data, OFSTED etc. We can arrange to return if something arises and Head Teachers would like a longer discussion. Our time is not limited if there is a long term issue we could assist in resolving.

Schools in South Gloucestershire have been divided up geographically for annual visits. Please click here or see below for the list. However Head Teachers may contact either of us for support.

All of our documents are available in our secure document library. Please click here or on the web link below to log in to Merlin and access them. Please contact Jo Briscombe on jo.briscombe@southglos.gov.uk if you have any problems with logging in.
