| Yes | As you have no doubt heard, most teaching and non-teaching unions are calling a national strike for next Wednesday 30th November. The grievance is associated with pensions and to extend the working age to past 65 years of age. After discussing this with our Chair of Governors at Mendip Green First School it is with regret that we have decided to close the school on Wednesday 30th November. This decision is never taken lightly and we wanted to give you as much advance warning as possible. With the amount of teaching and non-teaching staff not in that day we cannot operate the school on the grounds of health and safety. We realise this causes so much disruption to you as parents/carers and we do apologise for this now.
Yours sincerely,
B Dale (Headteacher) S Claridge (Chair of Governors) | 01/12/2011 |
