The Design and Technology Association is the recognised professional organisation representing all those involved in D&T education and its associated subject areas

The Nuffield STEM for Key Stage 3 project is developing and exemplifying a new cross-curricular approach to STEM teaching and learning. We aim to exemplify how to run an extended project at KS3. This would help KS3 pupils to:

• Plan and organise their own learning by developing specific project skills
• Formulate their own questions or design briefs
• Plan collaborative work
• Critique information from books, newspapers, websites and TV
• Analyse and represent data
• Develop frameworks for thinking about any topic
• Record and evaluate their learning journey
• Present and explain designs or solutions.
